This collection consists of materials dating from 1977 through 1999 with a good deal of the documents coming from Stan W. Lindberg's time as editor of The Georgia review. These materials include correspondence and records of Lindberg's work with authors published (and not published) in the journal and his creation of the "Roots in Georgia" Literary Symposium in 1985. There are also administrative and business records that show, among other things, his interactions with UGA Administrators and the Main Library on campus. Other materials highlight his work as an English professor and as an organizer of the Cultural Olympiad held in conjunction with the 1996 Atlanta Olympics. These records emphasize his efforts with the Cultural Olympiad's Winterland and Nobel Laureate projects.

The collection consists of five letters written by Benet to Florence Locke and Eleanor Adlard dealing with proposed dramatic readings from "John Brown's Body" and commentaries by Benet about them. Miss Locke had asked that Benet prepare a short synopis of the Civil War for English audiences. The synopsis, a five-page typescript with minor correction, is included with the letter dated September 24, 1934. The letters in the collection are: 1.) September 7, 1934, letter to Florence Locke; 2.) September 24, 1934, letter and synopsis to Florence Locke; 3.) January 12, 1935, letter to Eleanor Adlard; 4.) May 1, 1935, letter to Eleanor Adlard; 5.) July 18, 1941, letter to Florence Locke.

The correspondence consists mainly of letters between family members, and the personal and business correspondence of Byron Herbert Reece, some were written to him when he was a tuberculosis patient at Battey State Hospital in Rome, Georgia. After Reece's suicide in 1958, much of the correspondence of Eva Mae Reece pertains to memorials to her brother Byron Herbert Reece and copyright renewals of his works.

The work-related correspondence of most of the The Georgia Review's editors is found here along with documents related to exhibits and conferences the journal's staff participated in over the years. Also of interest, is a large amount of material such as original manuscripts and listings of authors and artists who have contributed to the journal.

The collection consists of materials covering the life and career of Coleman Barks, with materials ranging from 1959-2017. Includes correspondence with other authors, such as John Moyne, Robert Bly, Annie Dillard, Mary Oliver, Reshad Feild, and James Dickey. Other notable correspondence includes filmmaker Dorothy Fadiman, actress Debra Winger, and former White House Press Secretary Bill Moyers. Collection includes extensive files from Barks' career, including early drafts and notes of his first published book of poetry, The Juice, extensive notes on his many Rumi books, and several other published and unpublished works. Notable items include Barks' first published poem The Recuperating in Box 30, and Barks' first Rumi translations in Box 19. Other notable items from the collection include the robes, emblem, and honorary doctorate degree Barks' received from the University of Tehran in 2006, several dream journals he kept from 1972-2008, extensive notes from his travels and appearances across the world, and props from the set of the film Big Bad Love, in which he played a small role as a minister.

The collection consists of the literary estate papers from two filing cabinets of the offices of the Gone with the Wind Literary Rights, arranged and labeled as they were. One cabinet contained papers dealing with the foreign translations of the book, a Japanese musical production of Gone with the wind, plagiarism accusations from Susan Lawrence Davis, David Selznick musical rights, local museums and Margaret Mitchell namesakes, and fan mail. The 2nd cabinet dealt mainly with a Stephens Mitchell lawsuit against Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer over sequel rights and includes court documents and correspondence. There are also papers relating to his lawsuit against Showcase Atlanta for a stage production titled "Scarlett Fever." Also included are printed material, phonograph records, videotapes, and cassette tapes. Of special interest are letters from Gone With the Wind movie actors, post-World War II letters from translators of Gone With the Wind in France and Czechoslovakia, a journal of Wilbur Kurtz written while he was advisor for the filming of the movie, and gossipy letters to Margaret Mitchell from his wife Annie Laurie Kurtz as she watched the filming.
